Water Balloons 8/15/22
To throw or not to throw? Best options for water balloons and reusable water balloons
Our daughter absolutely fell in love with water balloons this summer. And while they are a ton of fun, we've found that the original water balloon may not be the best option for us. Here is an honest view point of three different types of water balloons we've tried this summer.
Earlier this summer, my family and I were at a friends BBQ when all of a sudden there were hundreds of fresh water balloons ready to be thrown. It was then when I learned about these water balloons, which come in 100 packs. The spicket holds 33-34 water balloons ready to go up to the hose. After about 45 seconds, the water balloons can fall right off with a gentle tug, and in the matter of moments you have a ton of water balloons.
Here is a picture of how the Quick, Ready-To-Go water ballloons work. You can literally fill up 30+ balloons in 45 seconds.
You can buy almost 900 of them on Amazon for a little over $20!
My daughter fell in love with these things! However, we wanted to get rid of them for two reasons:
The mess that came with that many water balloons. My wife and I would spend, no joke, almost an hour after a session with 100 balloons.
For safety reason, we were starting to feel uncomfortable with our daughter playing with that many balloons, especially if she had put one in her mouth.
Over the last few months, we have tried two different types of reusable water balloons. If you were to do a bit of research yourself, you would see these two different types. Here are my honest opinions on both:
Option # 1:These water balloons have a self-sealing magnet that you open and close to let in water.
Currently on Amazon: $30 for 12 pack
Pros:
Very easy to fill up
Can hold more water than option 2
Cons:
Can’t throw very far
After a while, they were more difficult to keep closed, which made them harder to throw.
Option # 2: These have holes at the top and bottom of balloons that you press open to let in water.
Currently on Amazon: $20 for 12 pack
Pros:
Easier to throw
More durable
Cons:
Difficult to fill up
Difficult for balloon to be filled up all the way
As you can see, both have their pros and cons, but I personally would prefer these over real water balloons for the reasons I stated above. Obviously, if you are having a big party, or are playing with older children, the real water balloons may be the better option. If you are looking for a reusable option, think about these. They are both affordable options and worth a try!
